Our method
The Five Template Method
We give small law firms a professional website with a price, process and monthly cost they can understand before they speak with us.
Know the price. Know the process. Own the website.
The standard
Ten times easier, not ten times cheaper
We do not try to be the cheapest website company. We try to be the easiest one to understand and the easiest one to leave.
- Easier to understand
- Easier to price
- Easier to buy
- Easier to review
- Easier to own
- Easier to update
- Easier to leave without losing the website
We only promise what we control
We only promise results we control. We control the price, scope, build process, technical quality, ownership and support. We do not control Google rankings, the number of people who contact a firm, or whether those people become clients.
Our strongest promise is not custom design. It is certainty: know the price, know the process, own the website, get help when you need it.
The five jobs
A small firm website has five jobs to do
Most small law firm websites do not fail because they lack features. They fail because they are unclear, slow to produce, expensive to change and impossible to move.
- 1
Introduce the firm.
- 2
Explain what makes the firm a good fit.
- 3
Present the attorney's background.
- 4
Explain the legal services offered.
- 5
Help the visitor contact the firm.
How page designs work
5 page designs. One design can power many pages.
A page design is a layout we build once for your firm. Every page that shares that layout reuses it with its own words and images. That is why your site looks consistent and why we can add pages later for $99 instead of designing from scratch.
You are not picking one of these designs.
Every example on this site is a demo on a fictional firm, built to show the kind of work we do. Your website is designed for your firm, your practice areas, your brand, your photographs, and the styles you point us to. We are honest about the price point: this is a focused, custom build on a proven structure, not a six month agency project. That is exactly why it can be this good at this price.
1 design we build
Many pages that use it
Same layout, different content. Your 5 included pages are counted as pages, not designs, so a firm with three practice areas still only uses one practice area design.
Home design
Used once
- Home page
Practice area design
Reused for every service you offer
- Car accidents
- Truck accidents
- Wrongful death
Attorney bio design
Reused for every attorney at the firm
- Jane Doe
- John Smith
- Associate bio
Contact design
Reused for every office location
- Contact
- Denver office
- Boulder office

Extra pages that reuse an existing design are $99 each. A genuinely new layout is quoted before production.
Keeping the website current
Three ways to make changes after launch
You decide how hands on you want to be. Nothing here locks you in, and you can switch approaches at any time.
Hire us to do it
Send the change in the portal and we make it. The $99 monthly plan includes up to 60 minutes of requested changes each month. Plenty of attorneys never want to touch the website, and that is completely fine.
Edit it yourself
The Standard Website includes a private editing area with clearly labeled boxes, so anyone you authorize can update words, photographs and contact details without moving the design.
Let an AI assistant do it
If you already work in ChatGPT or Claude, we can connect your website so you describe the change in plain English and the assistant makes it. Ask us and we set it up during the build.
Two products
Simple or Standard, chosen by how you want to run the website
Neither website is lower quality. They are designed for two different kinds of owners. The Simple Website is not a cheaper version of the Standard Website, it is a different product for an attorney who does not want an editing system.
| Simple Website | Standard Website | |
|---|---|---|
| Build price | $999 one time | $1,495 one time |
| Monthly care plan | $99 per month | $99 per month |
| First 12 months | $2,187 | $2,683 |
| Reserve your start date | $500 | $750 |
| Due before launch | $499 | $745 |
| Page designs | One homepage design and one inside page design | Five reusable page templates |
| Pages filled at launch | Up to 5 | Up to 5 |
| Rounds of changes | 1 | 2 |
| Who writes the words | You supply the approved words; we light edit for spelling, clarity and consistency | A 30-minute interview plus up to 2,500 words of first draft copy across the five launch pages |
| Private editing area | No private editing area | A private WordPress editing area with labeled Carbon Fields boxes |
| Hosting | Hosted on Vercel, the company that keeps the website files online | Managed WordPress hosting |
Why Simple Website costs less
- It uses two page templates: one homepage design and one inside page design.
- The same inside page design is reused for pages such as About, Services, Attorney and Contact.
- You supply approved words and pictures.
- There is no private editing area to design and build.
- Future changes come through the monthly support service.
Why Standard Website costs more
- It includes five different page templates.
- It includes a private WordPress editing area.
- Carbon Fields gives you clearly labeled editing boxes.
- We conduct a 30-minute interview and prepare the first draft of the website words.
- It includes an extra round of changes before launch.
Plain English
Every technical word explained once, in ordinary language
- Page template
- A reusable page design. Think of it like a court form: the boxes stay in the same places, but the information inside the boxes can change.
- Hosting
- The service that keeps a website online and delivers it when someone visits.
- Content management system, usually shortened to CMS
- A private editing area where someone logs in to change words, pictures and pages. The Simple Website does not have one.
- WordPress
- Website software that includes a private editing area. We use it for the Standard Website.
- Carbon Fields
- A tool inside WordPress that creates simple, labeled boxes, page headline, attorney biography, photograph, phone number, so content can change while the design stays in place.
- Vercel
- The company that keeps Simple Website files online and sends them to a visitor's phone or computer.
- Domain name
- The website address, such as smithlaw.com. It should be registered in the firm's name.
- Disclaimer
- A short statement that explains a legal limit or warning, for example, that sending a message does not create an attorney client relationship.
The process
Eight steps, published in advance
- 1
Choose Simple or Standard
ChooseChoose Simple if the website will stay mostly the same and you want us to make changes. Choose Standard if you want five page designs, help preparing the words and a private editing area.
- 2
Reserve a start date
Reserve$500 reserves a Simple start date; $750 reserves a Standard start date. The remaining build balance is due after the included changes and before launch. The $99 monthly plan does not begin until the website is live.
- 3
Send the firm information
Days 1-2Firm name, contact details, practice areas, bar admissions, attorney biography, logo, photographs you have permission to use and any required disclaimers. Simple customers also send the approved words; Standard customers complete a 30-minute interview.
- 4
We build the complete first version
Business day 5You get a private preview link to a complete working website, not a collection of disconnected pictures. Our target is five business days after we receive all required information.
- 5
Send one organized list of changes
ReviewA revision round is one complete list sent at the same time by one person who can approve the website. Simple includes one round; Standard includes two.
- 6
You approve the website
ApproveYou confirm names, contact details, biographies, credentials, practice areas, photograph permissions, testimonials, case results, required disclaimers and where the contact form goes.
- 7
We test and launch
Business day 10We check phone, tablet and computer layouts, contact form delivery, tap to call numbers, links, readability, the secure padlock, basic Google page information and your saved copy, then take the site live at your website address.
- 8
Monthly care begins
Launch dayThe $99 plan starts on launch day: hosting, maintenance, monitoring, saved copies and up to 60 minutes of requested changes each month.
Our target is a complete first version within five business days after we receive all required information, and a typical launch within ten business days when feedback comes back within two business days. If information or approval takes longer, the launch date moves by the same amount of time. Full detail in the terms.
Monthly care
$99 a month, with 60 minutes of help
Hosting and routine maintenance never use the time set aside for your requests. Requested work is counted in 15-minute portions and unused minutes do not roll over. If a request needs more time, we tell you first: extra approved time is $125 an hour, and we never send a surprise invoice.
- Change a phone number, address or office hours
- Replace a photograph
- Update an attorney biography
- Add a supplied announcement using an existing page design
- Change the email address that receives a contact form
- Add or replace a downloadable document
- Fix a small display problem
- Add supplied text to an existing page
When we say no
Work that needs a separate price
Turning these into a fixed price build would produce a worse website. We quote them separately instead.
- A new page design
- A large redesign
- A new logo
- Original writing for a new page
- A client portal, calculator, directory or other custom tool
- Moving a large existing website
- An ongoing Google ranking campaign
- Advertising or social-media management
Ownership
You own the website
- Your firm owns the approved website words, the design files created for the project and the photographs you supplied or purchased.
- Your firm owns and pays for its domain name, the website address, such as smithlaw.com, registered in the firm's name.
- Simple customers receive the website's original files. Standard customers receive a complete WordPress copy including files, uploaded images and stored content.
- There is no website buyout fee. Cancelling hosting does not cancel ownership.
- We provide the transfer package within 5 business days after a paid account closes.
